Who Are You?

Who Are You?

Acts 19:13-16 – “Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth. And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so. And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye? And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.
Our witness in this world is affected by who we are in Christ.
Christ offers salvation to everyone. Every day we have an accuser who stands before God accusing us.
But, it’s not about us. It’s about Jesus. God has an answer, a hope and a peace. We are ambassadors for Christ and we have a message to deliver, nor our message, God’s message.
If we focus on ourselves we will sink in our wallows, like Peter. So we must keep our eyes on Christ. If we behold our own image in the eyes of God, we will see ourselves as God does, blameless and perfect, in and through Christ.
We have an enemy who tells us daily that we are failures, and can’t do anything, but God’s image of us is completely different.
If we don’t know what the Word tells us about who we are in Christ, we will not be able to stand. But if we know who we are in Christ, we have all the ammo we need to stand.
Don’t discount who you are in Christ, but don’t think more highly of yourself then you ought. We know our Lord, but, we forget WHO we are in Christ.
So … who are you?

  2. If we only could grasp this life-giving TRUTH early in life, we could save ourselves from much hurt and brokenness. Identity is at the heart of my message and am really fine tuning it to focus even more clearly on it this year. It is so important and effects every area of our lives! Thanks for sharing this Truths about who we are and WHOSE we are ♥ I'd love to have you join me on Mondays for #MomentsofHope - a link-up featuring Christian inspired messages of hope!
    Blessings and smiles,
    Lori

  3. Thank you Lori, it would make life so much easier for us if we could grasp our identity when we were younger, it is so very important to expel this truth into new Christians early on.
