The Excellent Wife - A Wife's Understanding of God

A wife's responsibility to God as His creature is to bow in humble submission and adoration to Him, be God centered and to serve Him, for He alone is worthy to be praised.

Five Biblical principles wives need to know about God -

God has planned a ministry for me - Genesis 2:18
God is gracious, righteous and compassionate - Psalm 116:1,2,5
Gods strength and understanding are unlimited - Psalm 147:3,5
God is purposefully working in my life - Romans 8:28-29
God wants me to be a joyful and faithful wife - Proverbs 31:13,18,25,28,29

For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body - Ephesians 5:23

Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything - Ephesians 5:24

The two above verses clearly state that the husband has authority over the wife , however, the husband does not have absolute authority over the wife, because God has more authority then the husband does, and God has authority over the husband; God's authority overrides the husbands.

A husband should protect his wife from the influence of the world because the worlds ways are not God's ways, they are humanistic and self centered, emphasizing self worth and fulfillment from things.

By being obedient to God and under your husbands authority you can stand firm against the schemes of the devil.

Memory Verse - Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church; and He is the Saviour of the body - Ephesians 5:22-23
