The Excellent Wife - Who Can Find One


The greatest priority for the Christian wife should be to seek the Kingdom of God before anything else - "But seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you" - Matthew 6:33 - God, His Kingdom, yielding to Him making me the wife He created me to be





My second priority is my husband. "It is not good that the man should be alone, I will make him a help meet for him" Genesis 2:18
Traits of the Excellent Wife -

She can be trusted
She is kind
She fears the Lord
She is blessed by her children
She is careful
She is praised
She is not afraid
She works with her hands
She is wise
She is generous
She is good to her husband
She is of exceptional worth
She is respectful to her husband
She's a hard worker
She is frugal
She is wise with money
She is content
She is crafty
She is caring and helpful to others
Her strength comes from the Lord
She is wise
She looks after her household and family
 
 

The Excellent Wife's responsibility is to put her confidence in the faithfulness of God and His Word, to do what He says in His Word - II Peter 1:3

What keeps a woman from being  a godly wife? Sin

Descriptive phrases of sin -

Lawlessness
Transgression
Failing to trust in and do what Gods Word says
Presuming God will help when we are neglecting His truths
Thinking you can get by without the Lord or His help
 

Jesus is God's remedy for sin, John 3:16. And when you get saved God sends the Comforter, the Holy Spirit to you to help you, lead, guide and direct you - John 14:16-17

Christin wives are without excuse to succeed in becoming a godly wife because God has richly provided everything we need to be a godly wife -

Reverence - in high respect, honor and obey


Memory verse - A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones. - Proverbs 12:4

Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.

The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.

She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.

She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar.

She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.

She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.

She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.

She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.
