The Price You Pay When Your Angry

The Bible describes man [people] in several different ways.
Wise, prudent, deceitful, just, unfaithful, evil, faithful, foolish, furious, angry -
Anger ruins relationships; an angry person is someone who is addicted to anger, someone who is always looking for ways to cause strife and discord.
Proverbs 19:19 - A man of great wrath shall suffer punishment: for if thou deliver him, yet thou must do it again.
Deuteronomy 32:24, 33 - They shall be burnt with hunger, and devoured with burning heat, and with bitter destruction: I will also send the teeth of beasts upon them, with the poison of serpents of the dust. Their wine is the poison of dragons, and the cruel venom of asps.
The Price of Anger -
1. Everyone around the angry person has to deal with it; generally, it is hidden to the person who is angry
2. It is negative consequences for everyone; You can be intense and get your point across without being angry. Proverbs 19:19 - A man of great wrath shall suffer punishment: for if thou deliver him, yet thou must do it again. {the term ‘deliver him’ here means to make excuses for him, the angry person}.
3. When someone is angry they typically refuse God’s deliverance and help from anyone else.
4. Angry people are often jealous people. Saul was jealous of David, and in turn tried to kill him and his own son, Jonathon.
Anger is a sin, and all Christians should sustain from it; it will cost you your good name and could ruin your testimony.
Proverbs 29:22 - An angry man stirreth up strife, and a furious man aboundeth in transgression.
When your angry you do and say foolish things. Jonah was a good example of someone exhibiting foolish behavior and saying foolish things when angry.
Jonah 4:9 - And God said to Jonah, Doest thou well to be angry for the gourd? And he said, I do well to be angry, even unto death.
Proverbs 14:7 - Go from the presence of a foolish man, when thou perceivest not in him the lips of knowledge.
Another example of foolish behavior when angry is when Baalem got angry at his donkey; when it was his own fault for being angry because he disobeyed God.
Ephesians 4:31 - Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:
5. You can lose earthly treasures – your family, home, car
6. You can lose your job, or miss out on raises and promotions
7. You can lose or miss out on eternal treasures, like missing a blessing because of your disobedience.
8. It can ruin, and sooner or later will, ruin your relationships – your marriage, your relationship with your children, your friendships Colossians 3:21 - Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.

If You Want Victory Over Anger …
A – admit the problem, ask Godly people if you have an anger problem, and listen without getting angry
N – never quit or give up until you have complete victory – Proverbs 22:1 - A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold.
G – give your spouse and children corrective privileges. {give them permission to tell you when your getting angry or when you are angry, without getting angry at them}
R – repent and leave it all with Christ at the cross
Y – Yield to the Holy Spirit. Pray morning, noon and night.
Psalm 55:17 - Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.
Don’t forget to replace anger with something good; read, study and put on your walls the fruits of the Spirit. Galatians 5:22-23 - But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
