Genesis
Genesis
Today we begin a year long walk with God through His Word! I am so excited, and I hope you are too!!!
The Bible has EVERYTHING in it! Drama, suspense, love, war, peace, and salvation!!! God’s Word is alive and is as accurate today as it was thousands of years ago when it was penned!
Before reading, pray that the Lord would give you wisdom, and that the Holy Spirit would guide you and give you understanding of what you read, I am so excited! I can’t wait to see what the Lord has in store for me in His Word this year!! Genesis chronicles the beginning of both secular and sacred history and introduces key events and people God uses to shape those beginnings.
A lot of great stories are in this one amazing book….creation, the flood, the tower of Babel, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, the story of Joseph….so, so many lessons of men following the Lord, and of men not following the Lord!
It is the story of the one true God whose Word creates a world, and whose watchful care determines the destiny of mankind. Roughly one-fifth of the book (chapters 1-11) traces primeval history from creation to about 2000 B.C. The remaining four-fifths (chapters 12-50) detail the family history of one man, Abraham, and cover a period of about 350 years.
