Infants of all Ages

God doesn’t call the qualified,
He qualifies the called

I Corinthians 3:1-3 - And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ. I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able. For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?
We don’t start out in life eating solid foods, we start with milk; from there we move on to liquid food and little by little the food gets more and more solid and firm, moving onto feeding yourself and eating solid foods.
Being controlled by your own desires will stunt your spiritual growth; below are some ways to grow spiritually:
1. Get off soft foods; if you’re not growing, you’re moving backwards. When you are studying God’s Word be diligent, quit surface studying. II Timothy 2:15 - Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. How do you study diligently and to show yourself approved?
  A. diligent study habits
  B. self-discipline
  C. read your Bible daily
  D. diagram the Scriptures you read {I LOVE diagraming Scripture!} to learn their meaning
  E. use a concordance and Bible dictionary when you study, there are a host of free ones online, use several different ones! The Internet is full of free Bible study tools; here are a few helpful links to get you started, KJBible Online, StudyLight, Biblehub, BibleStudyTools, and BlueLetterBible just to name a few.
2. know how to correct sinful behavior and apply it
3. faithfully start studying areas of the Bible that are harder for you to understand
4. learn how to read and study the Bible
5. get a study partner
You have to be faithful in your Bible study, sometimes you may have to force yourself to do Bible study because it’s not human nature for us to step out and have faith in God, but in order to grow spiritually that is what you have to do, keep pushing forward even when you don’t feel like doing it. If you don’t study you won’t know what God’s Word says and ignorance is no excuse – if you don’t accept the free gift of salvation you will be thrown into the lake of fire with the devil.

So, how do you start your day?

Reading God’s Word should be how you start your day. You are your first ministry, your family is your second ministry; teach them right. Get familiar with your carnal mind, you can’t fix it if you don’t know it’s broke – what is IT? How do you fix IT? Read your Bible, it will tell you what your carnal mind is.
It is your worldly thinking and worldly ways.
Think of someone you know who thinks their way of thinking is better than God’s ways. Be very careful of these people, they can cause you to backslide; be careful of them but don’t turn your back on them, how can they learn if you aren’t walking with them and teaching them?
Galatians 5:16 - This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
So what steps can you take to get off the ‘milk’ and start chewing the ‘solid food’?
Everyday set aside time with God, by praying, studying His Word, learning what you study, understanding what you read, applying, walking, talking, teaching and living what you read and learn in God’s Word.
Once you receive Christ you are of royal blood, an heir to the throne. You have the Holy Spirit dwelling within you to lead, guide and direct you and to teach you. Sometimes we need to be still, our lives get so crazy and so hectic, it is hard at times to hear that still, small voice of the Holy Spirit.
Psalm 46:10 - Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
Remember too, sooner or later, one day, every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus IS Lord.
Basically we know what the Lord wants us to do, it is time to take action, stop being afraid, stop being lazy, stop running from Him and step out in faith, search the Scriptures, study them, learn them and understand them.
